NASA astronauts Nicole Aunapu Mann and Josh Cassada, along with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Koichi Wakata, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina have safely arrived at the International Space Station (ISS).
The SpaceX Crew Dragon Endurance spacecraft, carrying the four astronauts, docked with the ISS at 5:01 p.m. EDT on October 6, 2023, following a 29-hour journey from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The astronauts were welcomed aboard the ISS by the Expedition 68 crew, which includes NASA astronauts Frank Rubio, Kjell Lindgren, and Jessica Watkins, as well as ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti.
Crew-5 Mission Objectives
The Crew-5 mission is a six-month expedition to the ISS. During their stay, the astronauts will conduct a variety of scientific experiments and maintenance tasks.
Some of the key objectives of the mission include:
- Conducting experiments on the effects of microgravity on the human body
